Hip-Hop Bridge Institute

Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University and our partners, Chief Financiers Organization (CFO) and Hip-Hop Grub Spot Global Franchises, band together in the spirit of cooperation and prosperity to formally agree to establish The Hip-Hop Bride Institute (HHBI) of Florida A&M University.

The Hip-Hop Industry which has grown from it beginnings on the streets of New York to now becoming an industry with its reach permeating all of American (and International) popular culture, its influence on our politics secured with the election of President Barack Obama, and its status as one of the most powerful entities in the business community, able to generate over $20 Billion in revenue on an annual basis.

Now, at this moment, we believe the time has come to formally recognize the powerful engine that Hip-Hop can be in the evolution of our community from “mass consumers” to “investors.” To do so, we have partnered to give resources, time and responsibility to this new program called the Hip-Hop Bridge Institute; an entity that will serve on the campus of Florida A&M University as a portal for access to and for the Hip-Hop Industry for the students of FAMU.

HHBI will serve numerous functions on the campus of the University, but its chief roles are these:

  1. To serve as a point-of-access for the student body to engage the Hip-Hop Industry through Internship Opportunities with our Strategic Partners.
  2. To establish and maintain a The Hip-Hop Bridge Institute Database which will serve to provide a powerful networking tool with all Strategic Partners with the Institute and to serve as a resource for Entrepreneurship.
  3. To operate as a source of Research and Data Analysis on issues related to Hip-Hop Culture and its corresponding Industry.

Together, we believe we can band collectively to honor a tradition of progress in our Historically Black Colleges through the power of the Hip-Hop movement in order to pursue higher and greater levels of achievement with excitement and ambition of our young students.
